About us

As registered childminders, we are inspected by OFSTED every three years to four years, when we receive individual inspection reports, copies of these are provided to parents so they can be assured of the high standard of our childminding.

At our latest Ofsted inspections in March 2010 we both achieved Outstanding gradings. To view our reports please use the attached links:

Sally: I have been registered for 18 years with two career breaks, one working for the National Childminding Association as a Development Officer. Previous to my registration, I qualified as a Registered General Nurse and continued to work part time around my Childminding until nine years ago.

Over the years I have participated in various voluntary projects supporting Childminders, including The Hertfordshire Childminding Association as secretary, Support Childminder providing assistance and advice to newly registered Childminders. I’m currently representing Three Rivers Childminders at the Hertfordshire Childminding Forum and I am currently the secretary for the NCMA East Region.

Qualifications:

UKCC Register General Nurse
Cache level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice
Cache NVQ level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development
Chartered Institute of Environmental Health: Level 2 Award in food safety and catering.
Currently working towards Early Years foundation Degree.

Mick: I first registered 10 years ago on a part time basis. I now work with Sally Full Time, having taken early retirement from the Metropolitan Police Service after 35 years where I was a Deputy Business Manager. My previous experience of working with children was as a Cub Scout Leader for 6 years & as a Play Leader with our church Youth Club.

Over the years I have also participated in various voluntary projects supporting newly Registered Childminders, The Hertfordshire Childminding Association as secretary. I’m currently a NCMA National Policy Forum representative for East Region

Qualifications:

Cache NVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning & Development
Chartered Institute of Environmental Health: Level 2 Award in food safety and catering.

We have three children of our own Jamie 19, Bethan 15 and Niamh 11. They have all been raised alongside our minded children and very much welcome them all into our home as an extended family.

In accordance with Ofsted regulations since turning 16, Jamie has obtained an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau check and is now registered as an assistant. He will work with both or either of us but will not have sole responsibility for minded children unless we have written authority from parents, as shown on our registration certificates.

We are both members of the National Childminding Association who currently provide us with Public Liability Insurance. We also have appropriate business cover to use both our vehicles for childminding purposes.
